I glued the Penske in, then cut it to line and height with a skill saw. That gave me a good straight line and the cut was perpendicular to the outside face of the transom. After that, I was just carefull not to screw it up as I applied the glass. The only layers that went over the cut out were the last 4 that made up the thickened area. I rounded the inner and outer edges befoore I started that, then I used a board clamped to the inner and outer faces as well as staples on the top as neded.
