Default Re: 1985 23' cc no t top 2003 rude dfi 200-perform

Snap On Ron,

I checked out this boat over the web.

The owner seemed like a decent enough person.

I don't think that there is any warrantee left on the engine. Some people don't like the pre ETEC evinrudes. I would think that the 2003 would be a good year engine.

Based upon the pictures that I saw the boat seemed pretty clean. It had nice bow cushions I believe.

If my memory is correct there was no t top, not much in way of electronics and the transom seemed to be cut pretty low.

If you are serious about this boat I would spend $250 to $300 and get a professional surveyor to do the following
1. Check out the deck and transom (as well as the hull)
2. Perform both a compression and leak down test on the engine. Also, it would be nice to run run the engine in the water for a test drive.
3. Check out gas tank, wiring/electronics & hydraulic steering.

If you send me your email address I can send you a "book" that I hae begun to put together on the SeaCraft's that are currently available.

Good luck.

Peter

PS I am a mere neophyte at this SeaCraft stuff compared to some of the hardened pro's on this web site. Wwhat i know is based upon owning my own SeaCraft for the past 2 years and what i have learned on this web site. There are some people on this web site who have an unbelievable amount of knowledge.
