Anything is doable. And you are in the right place. I don't have any experience with outdrives but from what I can tell it looks like someone repaired it before. Without seing in person I can't tell what is going on. Maybe some of the other members could chime in and offer help. The nice thing about an I/O is the transom does not have to support the weight of the motor. Good luck.
