Sorry about the wood comment, I restore boats for a living and I am stuck on A-C Fir Plywood ( my preferance) if properly sealed and laminated over you should have a boat for a life time, and I like the ride of a heavy wood boat! All that is irrevelant for your project becouse of weight issues,I think you made the right choice with a composit structure and layup, and as far as the glass work and all relating to finish unless somebody goes over there and pulls out a magnifying glass it looks like Top of the Line work to me.
