I uesd mine just fine in the 18 and 23, although the 18 had a 115 inline Merc which is lighter than anything today. I also plumbed up to one of the small storage boxes on the stern for a dozen baits so you didn't need to get in it as often. I also don't think it would be wise with twins on a 23, I had a V8 Rude, heavey but not as much as big twins.
