Default Re: SeaCraft Bowrider \"CJ\"

GREAT looking paint job! May do same to my Seafari some day but too busy enjoying it right now!

I think you picked the OPTIMUM motor for that hull. I considered 115 E-tec last March, but they weren't available at that time, so went with 150 E-tec, which is way more power than needed, with top speed about 50 mph! Optimum cruise (per I-command gps spedo)is about 25 mph/2700-2800 rpm/5.1-5.2 mpg! At that mph/rpm it may be even quieter than a 4-stroke which would have to rev higher to develop enough torque. The 115 should burn even less gas! I finally concluded that weight is a big deal on 19/20' hull, because the OB's Carl probably designed them for back in the mid-60's (I-6 Merc & V-4 OMC) were about 300 lbs. If you put a 500 lb 4-stroke on the back it just won't be as well balanced as original.

By the way, I live less than a mile away, up on Robin Way, so stop by sometime and we'll take a ride in mine! Look for green truck & brick paver driveway; boat is next to house behind fence. DKB
