The 1" rule can be stretched but you would need a prop with alot rake and long blades like a Tempest,just a prop designed to run higher. I have that problem now but my motor is all the way down. This what I have now which a plain jane Merc and it won't pull the bow before it breaks lose, look at a Tempest and you will see the difference.
