Default Re: I/O Transom cutout pattern if anyone needs it

No,i didn't get a new package.I had planned on buying a new 350MAG MPI with a Bravo I drive, and was just about ready to order it when a friend found me a used Chris Craft with a nice 350 and alpha drive, that had less than 200 hours on them.

It was a no brainer,as it cost me $1500.00 versus more than twelve grand for the new package.I figure i can buy the radar, the radar arch, the kicker, the fishfinder, and lots of other stuff with the savings.

Beleive me,i would have loved a new injected engine, but i just couldn't justify spending that much more after this came along.

The area i fish (great lakes)isn't filled with lots of dealerships with high tech diagnostic equipment, which is required to work on MPI engines.

Most of the shops in the area i fish, are independent mechanics who are very good, but have a history of working on mostly carbureted engines.seventy five percent of the boats on the lakes are stern drives, and most are carbed.

If your buying new,i would go with the MPI engine,i researched it to death, and haven't found anyone who doesn't like them.Who did you get prices from on new packages?

Anyone want a nice 19' Chris Craft Scorpion hull for free? ha-ha
