Default Re: Etec 115 hp shaft extention question

Kbay:

I remember correctly it's a 1 1/8 inch hole that you'll need to mount on a 16" extension ( I used 7/16" thread rod for the one I made). You'll only need to remove about 1/8" of material from the midsection casing to allow the Bay MFG 5" input shaft extension to pass through to the power head. The opening of the midsection shaft tunnel is large enough near the lower unit for the extension to fit, but the tunnel constricts near the power head, thus the need to enlarge it to allow the extension shaft to reach the power head. ETEC's maybe different than the older models I've installed the extension on, so I'd recommend you verify with Bay MFG to make sure what is required.

I see you live in Hawaii. I am on my way to Ohau for 2 weeks of work related travel. If you live on Ohau and need a hand just PM and I'll send my cell#. I'd be happy to lend a hand if needed.
