Don't let the "rot" hype get your mind all twisted around. My 1978 still has 99% of the wood in the hull in tact and strong. There is a very small soft section on the bow casting deck and when I added the cap of the transom there was minor softness in the transom which I dug out and fixed. Wood is still used in Grady Whites and when encapsulated will last another 25+ years.

If your main goal is to save weight, then perhaps I could agree with you.
