Re: Shamrock Ride?
I used to fish on a friends 20 Shammy 10 yrs ago. Because of the full keel she would drift beam to and with little roll.
It had no freeboard to speak of. It also pounded like a Russian politician at the U.N. Hence the nickname "Slamrock". With the 302 we could fish all day for 30 bucks.
They are a heavy layup and the beam is a little narrow for an inboard. The Gold-Line 26 is 10` vs 8`6`` for the 26 Shammy.
The Conch 27 is another fine inboard. Shammies hold their value well but most people don`t appreciate / want inboards, so the resale market is limited. No boat is perfect. Go to fishtheclassic.com for more info. Shammy site.
