I used blocks of 8" x 8" wood pylings with 2" styrofoam between the block and the hull. 2 on each side to prevent tipping and 3 down the keel. concrete blocks are alright as long as you place them with the "cell" in a vertical position with a piece of ply wood between the block and styrofoam. A block on it's side or end has very little compressive strength. 7 supports might sound like over-kill, but it makes it easier to change their position once the bulk of the hull is painted. As far as the screw jacks are concerned most of the ones available are for stability not weight support and probably pricey to rent. Blocks are about $1.75 each and a sheet of 2" foam is $15 at your local home center. Whatever you decide to do make sure that the ground your working on is level and well compacted.
