Ok, found a product called "Rust Away" in the marine store. It's a liquid that you brush on, let sit for about 5 minutes then rinse off. It worked well- stains gone. I had tried BarKeepers Friend a while back for a stern lifting eye stain and it didn't work. Thanks for all the suggestions.
