I think that the 500 bucks is going to give you more headaches than you think. The problems with boston whalers are the hulls depend on the foam for the structural integrity of the hull. When you have huge hole in the boat like that the foam is water logged. Which in turn has to be all torn out. I think the easiest way to fix that big gauge would be to split the linner and flip the hull over. Unless you heart is set on spending the time on it. I would dump it on ebay.
