Default Re: Hobie Power Skiff

I bought one of these boats new in 1984. Kept it for 22 years and recently gave it to one of our boys. This boat had the "delux" console that you had to step into. A rounded affair with the seat attached. You could also order one with a more conventional square console with separate seat. The boat was designed by Phil Edwards who was a designer for Hobie boats, the catamaran builders. This boat was well build and finished and extremely light, but it is also a "small" 15'er. Mine was powered first by a omc 2 cyl 50, then a 3 cyl omc 60. Boat handles almost like a big PWC, in many ways. The lineup also offered a 13/14' skiff but i dont think i have ever seen one. It's wet like a PWC too. Self bailing. I don't think they ever figured out how to market it successfully. Google Hobie Power Skiff and you will find more info.
