Default Re: 1976 Sceptre ladder template

Welcome aboard BryanH.

I hope you learn as much as many of us have on this forum. If it is a great group of guys and girls.

Regarding your template for the ladder. Do a search for the ladder template and you will find that you're not alone. It has been discussed a number of times in the last few years.

Essentially, it is two parallel supports that at its ends are cut such that they essentially locked into place. Their rungs are hinged on either end in such a way that the two supports can be brought together much like a parallel ruler. The big challenge seems to be product strength and weight. One individual had discussed a center mounted connecting post for the rungs, I believe.

I have a 23' Scepter. I have cut the center "berth" filler side to side making it two pieces. With one piece in place, I can stand up on it facing aft through the windshield window and then sit down on the deck, pulling my legs up and out. My personal decision, given storage requirements and general aggravation, was to forego the ladder and just use my "booster" step when needed. I hope this helps.

Take care and be well. If you come up with a great idea, I will be the second in line behind you.

Good luck.
