No experience with gelcoat but there are other options, many users have used Signature Finish (I used on my Seacraft) which you can apply, and of course Awlgrip, Imron and other paints. Hopefully some of the users have experience with gelcoat and can help you if that is what you are set on. I would think to paint the entire boat with Signature Finish about 1k.
