Default Re: Camping in Jupiter

Loran tower has worked for me as well.. Also pick up a Fishing "Hot Spots" Chart from Boaters World..about $14.00-$15.00..has good wrecks and you can utilize your gps.
Lox river is good fishing too...I was born and raised in Jupiter and lived on Pennock Point on the Loxahatchee River..has changed quite a bit but I attached a mapquest map with a good fishing spot that worked for me especially during Novemeber and December for large Bluefish.Might want to put your boat in at the Burt Reynold's Park....there are two boat ramps there located on US1 south of JD State Park entrance...Use the Boat Ramp on the west side of US1....then you wont have to worry about the fixed brige you have to clear on the other ramp. (located on the east side of US1). Directions from the boat ramp..head north until you see the bridge on your left..if you go to the right you will be heading towards the inlet....when you see the bridge to the left (811 Bridge)..used to be called the old railroad bridge...go under and keep heading west...follow chanel markers to aviod the sand bars on either side (used to love to watch people try to navigate the river prior to the channel markers ...keep going and anchor right at the point that I marked...doesn't have to be exact but just right off the channel.Fish at night with incoming tide..chum with mullet and then throw in cut mullet...Here is an attached mapquest with notes..hopefully you can read it and it helps.
