Lost Bearing Buddy REWARD!
Weeeelllll I`m 2 for 2 on that front at the events. I had been checking my hubs every 20 miles or so since my last expidition. I had done due dilligence with my trailer and expected no quarter. I was prepared, or so I thought.....
Two hours in I stopped again and the suspect had eacaped. The wheel was a little off camber. The bearings looked like trash. Grease was all over my new wheels, springs, bushings, hardware, and instant CRC galvanizer. I really didn`t want to do this again. I pulled out my floor jack and my breaker bar. Hmmmmmm, where`s the grease gun? In the driveway behind the imaginary pre-flight checklist? Roger that. I was on the outskirts of a small town. I found a horse trailer dealer and hitched up my lame horse. Asked Eli if he could help me out. He "highly" recommened a tire and muffler shop around the corner. I watched him pull the hub with good speed and skill. The spindle was fine. Good news. I trusted. I went into the waiting room after asking them to pull them all and check them. I read an issue of car and driver from last year and they were done in half an hour. Paid the 110 and hit the road.
3 miles out I stopped and they were cooler. 10 miles later they were getting warmer. Turn around or press on? Starting cooling off and I was hopeful.
If anyone is on the fence about attending a gathering of the privateers, let me say this. I learned more about trailers than I ever thought possible in one short weekend.
That doesn`t even crack the surface of the other topics of the weekend.
Many thanks to Skip , Carla, Denny, Ken, And All for the help.
