Default Re: A Memorable Classic Restore

3 years ago there was a restored PT boat in Key West that you could go for a ride on . It was located next to a large old sailing ship that I believe you could also go out on.We talked to a guy that was at the boat dressed in battle gear that said he was a gunner on a PT boat . We asked about the machine gun with the shield in front of it and he said there was no need to duck behind anything when under fire because everything was plywood to save weight and speed was there best friend.I don't know if it's still there or not . A friend of mine in Morehead City has a meticulously restored Higgins which was also a military boat.It is used as a private yacht called The Lookout. It is extremely fast and will walk away from her other boat a 43' Buddy Davis custom sportfisher. The Lookout is painted battleship gray and is docked in Spooners Creek. The owner bought the boat from someone for a song and spent years and countless dollars having her restored. It had sat on the bottom for years somewhere near Wilmington NC.
