George F. Ballentine Jr., a retired Falmouth boat builder, died Saturday at his home in Brandon, Vt. He was 75.
Mr. Ballentine was born in Dedham and graduated from Dedham High School. Following graduation he worked in the yard of Palmer-Scott Boat Builders in New Bedford for several years before joining the Army and serving during World War II.
After the war, Mr. Ballentine moved to North Falmouth, where he owned Ballentine's Boat Shop. He also built and operated Fiddler's Cove Marina in North Falmouth.
He retired in the mid-1970s and ...
I used to have an 18'1956 palmer scott bass fishing boat. Looked very similiar to the pictures above..
