Also, I couldn't recommend any referrence source more than Nigel Calder's "Boatowner's Mechanical and Electrical Manual". It is truly a book that will give you virtually everything you need PLUS the explanation of why it is important. It might seem more than you need to know, but knowing what you need to do is only half the story. We all need to have a working understanding of why we need it that way.

Best of luck and don't be afraid to ask the questions. It will save huge $$$$ in the long run.
