Min planing speed is a function of weight, CG location and how much stern lift you're getting out of the prop. Trim tabs will also help a lot, but you might consider trying a 4 blade stern lifting prop. The PowerTech prop guys told me that having more blades improves stern lift, so just about any 4 blade prop is better than a 3 blade for same blade configuration.
