I have a 78 Sceptre and I replaced the rub rail a few years ago when I re-did the boat. I may have the old rub rail in a box somewhere in my shop...I will look and see if I can find it. If I can find it I'll send you a piece....My boat had twin I/O's and was converted to single I/O by the previous owner in 1988. He says the boat was a slug with the twin 4 cyls and the conversion was the best thing he ever did for the boat. He said you would have to have ridden in it with the twins to appreciate how much better the boat performs with the single engine. (Volvo 290 drive w/ Chevy 350 @260 hp). The big engine box restricts the cockpit space some but there is plenty of room to work on everything.
