Bayouboy,
Thanks,The kicker bracket is made by Adventure Marine,
www.adventuremarine.net/product-catalogue/index.cfm?CategoryID=6&do=subcat
I wanted a stationary bracket, and this one was the best I found. It's made of 1/4" aluminum, and is incredibly strong. They were originally made for one of the Yamaha boat lines,by this company, and Yamaha gave them the permission to sell them.
The 8 hp kicker has power trim, and tilt,so I can tilt it out of the water with a push of the switch on the control box, when I'm under power with the out drive.
The steering connector rod is made by EZ Steer,
www.ezsteer.com/ and is connected to the drive and outboard with quick connects(like an air hose has). The rod is two pieces that slide in and out of each other.
It self adjusts,so when you raise the kicker, the rod expands, and when you lower the kicker the rod slides back to where it was.
It has spring loaded detents that are set at eighteen pounds before they slip,so that the rod stays the same length when you steer the kicker.
These are extremely common on boats on the great lakes that run kickers for Salmon trolling.
