Re: 76'MasterAngler Big Pine, FL Keys
This is a 1992 200TXRQ. It weighs in at 416lbs. It is a bit heavy for the stock design of the MasterAngler. If I am solo in the boat, the self bailing design works correctly, but water will come in and out of deck drains when you move around and stand in corners. If I stand in the stern corner, water will come in the drain holes in the deck. I always put plugs in the deck drains. There have been five holes drilled in aft portion of drainage channel for controlled drain off deck into bilge. I can pump 4000 gph out of my bilge, so it works fine for me. I never get nervous with my setup and I put it to the test a LOT. I plan on raising the deck in the future and running raybuds out the transom.
200 Yamaha works well for my 20 MA but might not work for everybody. I like being able to do 52mph WOT. Bulletproof combo for what I use it for. I can't wait to do the deck and have a true self bailing boat so I can have a salt water washdown to easily wash away all that dolphin blood during those good summer days. Until then everything works great.
If possible, raise the deck 3" and you will definitely enjoy having the extra power of a 200.
