Dang Rhody, just when I was reaching contentment with Pacifico beer, you had to bring up my summer fave T & t... Gotta feeling this summer is not going to be very productive
Thanks for the compliment Tucker, but I am unworthy of the praise. The door is teak, but the frame and the seat backs and tops are mahogany. The frame is 6 or 7 coats of McCloskey's ManOWar spar high gloss poly and the seats boxes are sporting some ancient white yacht enamel. The mahogany just has a few sealer coats of 2:1 epoxy. I borrowed this idea from Joey whose bright work is awesome. I hope to top coat it soon with either some more gloss poly or I may try a clear awlgrip or clear automotive paint a friend offered me. Haven't decided. Joey and some others had some good advice on teak maintenance about a year back. I think Joey would sand to wood, 3 coats of epoxy, and 7-10 coats of clear awlgrip or something...search his posts from a year or so ago. Wood shimmered like diamonds in his pics. Lots of opinions on that teak stuff. Honey Teak or Snappy Teak got some good reviews. Out here Cetol is popular.
