Default Re: splashwell drains

Mine are 1" brass tubes. Moeller and Seachoice make them and the run 3-4 bucks a piece. I got mine online. If you go that route you'll need a flaring tool that goes for about $35 also made by Moeller. Just google Moeller Drain tubes or scupper tubes and cut to length. Having a fresh transom, you might want to go with a nice stainless garboard type drain.

Some guys oversize the hole and then fill it with thickened epoxy before drilling a new reinforced hole and and placing the tubes. At the very least seal up the cut edges with epoxy before proceeding with the installation. Some guys use 3M 5200 to seal them in place others like something less permanent like 3M 4200 or Sikaflex 291,especially for the brass tubes. Good luck. Do some searches for scupper replacement as its been frequently done here and very similar in process.
