Default Re: Sell engines as is or fix em and sell em?

You've got to do the numbers . . . as well as factor time into the decision making process. What's wrong with the one engine? What's the repair going to cost? how long will the repair take and what is the going rate for a set of those engines once they are repaired? I can't imagine that the set is worth more than $2000 - 2500/pair even with one engine rebuilt and probably $1000 - $1500 "as-is". Is the repair going to cost more than $1000? is so then sell "as-is".

My suggestion would be to try to maximize your profit by selling the good one separately asking $1000 - $1500, one for parts $350 - $500 (depending on what's wrong), and selling the rigging seperately for $100 - $200.

Again this is just my opinion. Ebay and get them sold in 7 days. Craigslist is too much of a PIA.
