It's hard to say what you should pay. Older COMPLETE running ready to rig outboards can bring a premium sometimes, take a look at some of the prices to repair common outboard problems and it makes sense. I can say that those model motors were pretty well designed, powerful, heavier motors. If you are going to do the bracket I would maybe look for an older Merc. of the same horsepower with 25" shaft. Or you could try to find a 150/175 Johnson/Evinrude through the nineties....they had a great power to weight ratio and should be little cheaper than the 200/225.
