Opinion on redoing a 72 23'CC
Hey Everyone. I have a 1972 23'CC that has been in the family since 1976. It was repowered in 03 with two new 115 4 stroke Yamahas. I had to add a piece to bring up the transom to handle the 25" shafts for the motors since the originals were 20" and the new motors sat to low in the water. The only other changes are a t-top, new fuel tank and trim tabs. When installing the trim tabs, I noticed some wetness to the transom. So I am at a point where I know after 37 years it might be time to redo the transom. My question is keep the classic look with the splash well/ bait tank in the floor or add a Hermco bracket and change the look. I can't decide to stay classic or add the bracket and move the baitwell up to what Hermco did on another 23'. I plan on keeping the boat another 37 years and keep the same motors on the back so if I did the bracket, I don't know about the performance. I appreciate anyones input. Thanks again.
