Default Re: wahoo

Thanks Sandy and Everyone..

I was out Yukking it up with some friends on a buddys boat and we decided to just set up a few drifts.. I really did not feel like fishing so I just twisted some wire to a rod with a full spool of twenty on a Tld 30 .. We drifted for about twenty minutes and Someone brought in a king and Then the rod I was using Sceamed drag was really loose and birdsnested then cleaned itself up then birdsnested again then cleaned itself up.. I thought it was a fowl hooked KIng.. I never in a million years would have thought a wahoo. So I just fought it really loose and then when it came to the side of the boat it was like a chinesse fire drilll on acid. It took an eternity it seemed like...

We hooked it on a scale that only went to 75 lbs and It bottomed it way out.. So I really do not know how much it really weighed But I do know over 75.... It took forever to get it to the boat and a buddy of mine almost cut the line after what it seemed like an eternity... He said its a foul hooked king.. I never took time like that to fight a fish before.. I just wanted to see what it was.. I thought it was a shark to be honest with everyone...

I know the odds of catching this fish on 20llb line and how it was rigged.. Very Slim.. It was a catch of a lifetime for me...... The pics do not do the fish any justice, Im 5'11 and the fish was bent at the head in the pic..

Have a good week everyone
Chris
