Raising the deck would be for an older boat from the 70s and 80s . A basspro seacraft should not have an issue because of the higher transom and higher floor to offset the newer heavier motors. The earlier boats floor and transom were low causing water to creep in the scuppers when people were in the back of the boat. Test for your self when the boat is in the water with 2-3 people in a back corner of the boat some water may come in , but it shouldnt be a lot
As far as what to look for, if youre familiar with boats check the normal stuff, inspect that everything is in working order around the whole vessel, check for any loose fittings, console is not loose, same with ttop. Look through all hatches and inspection plates check all bilge and livewell pumps are operable. Also the motor should reach its max rpm, tilt and trim works etc.
I would reccomend spending a couple of bucks for an hull and engine survey, done at the same time as the seatrial, so you have a solid feel of wht the boat will need. Being a 9 year old vessel she will need something attented to. Also a survey may be required if you are financing. I hope this helps! and good luck!
