The engine box was a mess just like the top cap. The only difference a lot less curves. So glassing over it was a snap.

This boat was built in 1964 and it has a Diamond on the box.
Does anyone know when they went to the Hull Profile on the box?
All patched up and covered with 4 oz. glass.
Covered with Liquid Fairing Compound and ready for sanding.
Flip this dog over and grind out the old coring (actually this was done first).
Wooden Pads for the box hinges.
Epoxy in the Plascore coring.
1708 trial fit and then epoxy in. Let me tell you this thing is now sturdy. No more stress cracks that is for sure.
Still sanding on the top cap. However progress is being made. My goal is to have the top cap engine box and hull ready for priming by June.
