I was a fine young cannibal?
I got pulled over last Monday by a training crew. He asked for things one by one as I showed them. He didn`t ask for flares.

I said nothing. No whistle either , but it was on my key chain. I said nothing. He asked if I had been fishing. He asked to see my venting tool and de-hooker. I showed him my pliers and told them I use a riggin` needle to vent fish. I told him I`d been using it for 10 years or so, and that I was a member of the WPB fishing club and CCA. He asked a trainee to write me for no venting tool. I told him a tool is a tool half tongue in cheek. He said it was not an approved tool.
That was it. He seemed to have an ego , so I decided to try to use that in my favor. I bet him my ticket that I could properly vent a fish with my needle and that he couldn`t vent one with his "approved" tool.
The trainees all looked at him. He said he could vent a fish the right way and that it was easy with the proper tool. I grabbed a Mutton and passed it over. He pulled out his very small tool and laid down the pec fin. I shook my head side to side as the trainees looked at me. I asked if anyone had heard a whoosh. Nothing. I asked for the fish.
I pushed my long tool in just behind the trailing edge of the gill plate at a very acute angle and whoosh as I held it up for all to hear. I was very tempted to say that`s how it`s done son , but I didn`t see any bread sticks.
I was free to leave. I thanked them and thought what a tool.
Cheers,
GFS
