Default Motor problem on maiden voyage

So I put her in the water for the first time on Saturday. At first the motor wouldn't pee... but I ran a piece of wire leader up the pee hole and cleared out some trash. After that it worked fine.

The big issue started after I got past the no-wake zone and gave her the gas. Up to 1/4 throttle it worked fine. Beyond that, a big vibration started.... almost like heavy cavitation (but I don't think it was cavitation). It would never really rev up above about 2200 RPM. I went to half and then full throttle and it just vibrated and wouldn't pick up steam. I ended up turning around and (after waiting in line for 45 minutes at the ramp) putting her back on the trailer.

Once we got back home, I hooked up the water hose and ran it. There was no vibration, but the motor never really seemed to produce power beyond 1/4 to 1/3 throttle. It just doesn't rev.

Also, it started giving me some kind of audible alarm, only when giving medium to full throttle. Not sure if it a low fuel flow alarm or what.

The motor is a 2000 Suzuki DT140 fuel injected/oil injected 2-stroke. The fuel tank, fuel lines, fuel filter are all new. It has fresh gas.

I was thinking that maybe the filter located at the reservoir near the fuel injection system is clogged. I haven't had a chance to open it up yet.

Ideas? I sure am frustrated!
