Default Re: Tuna Time on the 409

Hi Tucker

Tuna fishing on the humps is kind of like asking out a beautiful model when you look like a nerd.
They have a very narrow band of what is expectable in their eye.
You got to fish live bait and have enough to chunk a few free bees out on every drift.
Got to fish between 7-10:30 AM just west of the 409 where the birds are. Use 30 lbs leader and a 4 o hook and have 4-6 lines out. I also use a chum bag. When the current gets you on top of the 409 it’s time to reel up and do it again. We had one triple and a coupe double fish hookups this trip. We also did some deep dropping in 750 ft and got a couple of golden tiles. All in all it was a good day fishing But it always could be a little bit better. I think I will do it again in 3-4 weeks from now. The temperature was really hot and I can’t take the heat as good as I use too.
