Re: What Prop?
Rebel TBX 17" or 18" pitch for a BRp prop for all-around use. If you're gonna be offshore 80% of the time or more, then the Cyclone in a 17" pitch.
You still want to be able to turn Max of Max at Max. (Maximum end of Maximum RPM range at Maximum loading)
In other words, you want to be able to turn 5850 rpms (Max RPM range is 4850 to 5850 rpms) with the boat loaded with full fuel, AND all your gear, AND the maximum number of people you'll ever have on board.
Yes, you'll lose a couple of miles of WOT speed. But you won't blow your motor from overloading, you're not likely to spin or shred a hub, you'll have a lot of available torque in an emergency if you ever need it, and your cruise economy will be about the same, because your motor is not laboring as much at a given speed.
Don't over-pitch yourself into trouble. Way too many people shorten the life of their motor by having too much pitch in their propeller. The 150 is plenty of power, so dropping your top speed from 48 to 44 mph isn't going to make much of a difference. You'll rarely be able to sustain over 30 mph offshore except in the summer. 20-25 mph offshore cruise is much more likely to be all your hull fittings and body can stand.
