No doubt the stripes would be nice looking,and heck if you have the nice working conditions like you do then go for it.Part of me still wishes I did the stripes.
As for the hatches,I did all the hatches and the transom with marine fir plywood.
I probably went overboard with the glass the glass work when it came to these.At my age I know it will last me,unless I'm still fishing at 90.
Having said that if I were to do it over again,I'd give some thought to using foamcore,or maybe Balsa core instead of the plywood.
I can't believe how heavy they are.In my opinion,anything you can do to lessen the weight in the I/O the better.
My Tsunami sits low in the stern,and although it doesn't affect the ride,plugs in the scuppers are mandatory.
I'm not sure how much weight would be saved but maybe Someone on the site would know.
PS: I heard that trolling a live chipmunk on a wire dipsy behind a spin doctor works great for king salmon.
