years ago,i had a boat i checked out for a transom-it belonged to a guy in the coast guard-he declined the estimate-he had a friend in the coast guard,who worked @ steiger craft factory-they were gonna recore the transom...about 2 months later,the same gentleman brought me the boat-they cut the inner deck out,removed the core-coated everything out in polyester resin,and jammed 2x4's to hold the wood against the skin...needless to say,nothing adhered-a giant sticky mess...
there's nothing wrong with trying a repair on your own-but-alot of people attempt something way above their skill level-that's when the problems kick in...
i can't believe silicone held starboard against the glass skin ?
