I can't help out with the handles, but, if you had started out with this picture, you would probably be inundated with fuzzies!
Why not buy some 5/4 x 4 teak and make them? Most places I'm aware of will sell short lengths. Just better have some sharp blades! [img]/forum/images/graemlins/tongue.gif[/img]
