Default It started with a little soft spot

About 7 years ago I went fishing on a buddies Seacraft. It was snotty, but she handled beautifully. We caught some dolphin and I caught the Seacraft bug. A few weeks later I was the proud new owner of a slightly used 1973 20'.

Fast forward 2 years... We had fished the hell out of the boat, but I was tired of putting band aids on her. It was time for some minor modifications.

This was the first tiny little soft spot that I investigated. Much to my horror, I realized that the entire deck was one patched up soft spot

I decided to leave everything in place (huge mistake) and just sneak a new deck in.

Much to my horror, I rapidly began to understand how terribly rotten this boat was. It needed help in every area.

Fast forward 5 years, 3 hurricanes, one new baby son, and a mountain of beer. We are finally out chasing dolphin again, though with a lot more family icw cruises mixed in.

In retrospect I learned a gained a great deal of knowledge about boats, fiberglass a lot of sanding equipment, and the understanding that it is never wise to leave boating receipts laying around my house.
