Rbol, Lots of great advice here...If you make it to the Cape stop at one of the outer cape beaches in the National Seashore and walk thru the NS Visitor Center in Eastham, The seals in Chatham and their town Fish Pier are worth checking out...the fish pier has a nice viewing area to see commercial boats unload...and seals eating the discards.
Regarding S. Fla...Isn't Los Olas a historic district? And S. Fla has to be famous for suburban sprawl...nothing like the build out that happened the last 15 years down there...
