You really think the water line will be the same?? I go back and forth on that one. I want to run the motor a bit before dropping another $500 on the extension kit. I figure I can run it up for a while and see how it does (ruins a crank bearing or not) before making a decision.
The big unknown is the fact I moved 60gal of fuel 3ft forward(both tanks moved up). I know the bracket will float the motor no sweat, but how high will it be with the boat loaded? Nobody knows untill its loaded and floating!
I can say, without notching the bracket's flange they are as high as I could get em. This pic will give you an idea relitive to the orignal waterline. The oval scupper cutout is 1/2in below the flange in this picture, just enough for the 'trim' of the scupper door to fit.
