Mine has four screws from the bottom side, three that I could access and the fourth inside the glovebox couldn't be found, or I should say it wasn't worth dealing with getting it off in my case. I had the three screws out and was going to sneak the teak off of the fourth screw after wetting it down to soften it up around the threads. If I got it out in one piece I would have epoxied the teak back the the screw. Mine was pretty grainy. I thought I was gonna replace mine but I was able to refinish it well enough in place so I just did that.

Thank goodness that in the scheme of things you are broke, powerlesss and inconsequential, because with the shortsighted alternatives and idealogy you have you'd be much worse than those you complain about.
