Poly is not the way to go long term. They typically mount with straps and then get foamed in. The ethanol (and fuel itself) can break them down over time. But they are cheeper, if you feel like doing a tank every few years it might be OK.
Alum tanks are more $$ but as long as you leave them full during storage time you wont have an issue with internal condensation and corrosion. Dont foam them in, wedge and screw them instead and leave a little air space, coal tar expoxy coat and they will last a life time.
