I rewired my seacraft a couple of years ago. the previous owner had one power lead jumped off the bilge pump on the panel. he then had the radar, radio, recorder and gps all spiced into the one wire that led to the radar, what a mess.
one blown fuse or wire and the whole boat would have been dead.
he had most of the work done at a local boatyard, never checked it or knew to check it. some people should not mess with anything.
