Default Junk (Glove) Box

After getting the fairing done and shooting the top cap (again). It is starting to look like something that belongs.

Port

Starboard

Cap

There is only so much sanding priming and fairing a guy can do...before he blanks out.

So my fun project was to fabricate a glove(junk) box . When I first bought the boat the PO just cut the dash and basically tortured the thing. Look close it is not even centered.

Old

So knowing that I would
re-do this some day I filled it and glassed it with new wood.

Then made fair and primer

Now a couple of years later I decided how I was going to do the new box.

Pick a size and center

Make a template to enclose the space

Then make a real template

Cut out cardboard and see how it looks

Make cleats to hold the floor and sides in

Use scrap azec used from other projects and check fit

Now I have a glove box that matches my bunk covers that I made a while ago in Starboard... Glove box door is in starboard also.

Now that the fun is over and my white oak is in I have to start the final on the windshield.
