No . . . I don't think one hole would cause this. For $2 you can be 100% sure. Are you sure you have a large hub 4 3/4" prop? You might measure it to be sure. If you are running a small hub 4 1/4" Trophy Plus prop on a 4 3/4" lower unit that would explain your issue.

Try putting the aluminum prop and the trophy side by side and measure the hub. I'd be willing to bet you will see one is 4.75" and the trophy plus be 4.25".
