Well I've used the boat twice so far. The anti cavitation plate is even with the keel but when I'm on a plane the motor is buried a little so I think it does need to come up a hole. Right now I'm running a 17p stainless yamaha prop. With me my buddy, fishing gear and 35 gallons of gas I was running 33mph at 5600rpms. I am able to cruise 25 mph at 4400rpm.
So far I am very happy with the engine. I am perfectly happy with the speed I'm getting and it feels like a very strong motor. I may play around with props some when I get the money. I want to try a 15p and see what that does.
It is deffinitly slower then the 200 mariner but I like this new setup 10x more. Besides living in new England I don't get too many times when I can go over 30 in a 20 foot boat.
When i first decided to go with the 115 i was a little worried about loosing almost half the horsepower of the 200 but after getting it in the water and cruising around, i am happy as can be. Ill make sure to get some more pictures next time im out.
Today i had to shuttle some people over to the next island over. There was 8 people and food for the weekend. Even with the 115 i still got right up on a plane and cruised over 23mph at 4500 rpm. At wot i was getting 5200rpm. I thought it was pretty impressive for a 115.
